General Community Scholarship Fund
The General Community Scholarship Fund supports scholarship programs designed to assist local residents who wish to pursue a career in a healthcare profession. Participants in these programs are encouraged to stay in the Pickaway County, Ohio area, and at Berger Health System, after completing their education to honor their community's investment in their future. These programs have the added benefit of helping to ensure a future of quality care for area residents by providing "home grown," highly-skilled professionals for our medical offices and facilities.
Berger Employee Healthcare Scholarships
Friends of Berger - The Friends of Berger women hold an annual holiday fruit, nut and cheese sale to raise dollars for scholarship support to advance the training of Berger Health System clinical employees. This results in approximately $2,000 each year.
Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Fund -Berger Health Foundation and the Pickaway County Community Foundation partnered to accept this $30,000 grant from the Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Fund, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee. A portion of the funding will be used to provide scholarship dollars for women employees who are participating in the Berger Health System/Ohio University Professional Master's of Business Administration program. The remainder of the grant has established an endowment fund to build sustaining support for Pickaway County women interested in higher education opportunities within the healthcare field.
These scholarships are provided to Berger professionals who wish to further their education as well as Berger employees who may be in administrative roles, but wish to become a licensed healthcare professional. Friends of Berger, a very special group of dedicated volunteer supporters, help to raise funds for these scholarships. Scholarships are also supported through private, corporate and civic organization donations.
